      • Sparkling world with a dark underworld

        Foreword by Jim Davis

In the 10+ years that I’ve worked with Noletta Chiu, I can vouch for the fact that Guardians of Chrestar is as brilliantand as creative as she is.

        The Power of Light Prevails!
There in lies the message in Guardians of Chrestar, a classic fantasy about good over evil. Part fable, partparable, Noletta takes us out of this world to a sparkling city powered by positive energy provided by a majestic tree. There we meet our hero and heroine, Jack and Candice, twin siblings experiencing the tricky terrain of growing up and their need to be both connected yet separate. When in sync, their hearts and minds are open to each other, they are strong, when divided, they are diminished.
The dazzling and peaceful city of Guardians of Chrestar is not without a dark underworld, as the siblings discover when they stumble into Beast World, a sunless and deadened world ruled by a vindictive queen whose power is strengthened by negativity. They return to their worried parents relatively unscathed, but Jack finds himself mysteriously drawn to the blackened world hidden below. He returns and unwittingly sets in motion a battle between the forces of dark and light; a showdown between good and evil. It is now Jack’s moral imperative to save Guardians of Chrestar.
Jack, who is brave but impulsive, reluctantly recruits Candice, who is kind and wise, on a dangerous quest to gather the Light of the Seven Lamps, the source of light which will save the peace-loving people of Guardians of Chrestar. And there, our journey begins through well-imagined and fantastic worlds where mythical creatures emerge presenting both obstacles and opportunities to our heroes.
Noletta has woven a compelling tale of how positivity and kindness can defeat negativity and hatred and how working together brings us strength and resolve. The adventure is carried out by very compelling characters who are as adept at making moral judgments as they are using their special powers. Personality conflicts and mortal confrontations provide an action-filled story with each chapter leaving you eager to jump into the next.
The book leaves you wanting a sequel, nay, a library!
